Impeller is more efficient in turbulent mixing
XE-3 is as much as 24% more efficient than the HE-3 impeller in turbulent mixing. This improved efficiency can
reduce the horsepower and size of a gear drive to achieve the desired mixing result. Upgrading to the XE-3 from
less efficient impellers, such as a pitched blade impeller, is easily accomplished because the XE-3 impeller weight is
similar or less than the older impellers. Chemineer’s impeller technology is effectively applied across a wide range

STACKABLE HOSE MOUNTING COLLARS PERMIT EASY CHANGEOVERS
A line of two-piece hose mounting collars that can be stacked together and attached to other surfaces for creating mounting
arrays that can be easily changed are available from Stafford Manufacturing Corp. of Wilmington, MA. Stafford
Stackable Mounting Collars are two-piece designs with flats on one or both outside surfaces that are drilled and
tapped for attachment to each other or to another surface.  Featuring a countersunk hole on the inside to maintain a
smooth interior surface, these collars securely hold hoses and tubing without crushing and are easy to open and adjust
for changeovers. Available in 1/8 in. to 16 in. I.D. sizes for securing a wide variety of hoses, the Collars are ideally
suited for applications where rigidity and the ability to compensate for misalignment or where routing changes are
necessary.  They can be made from steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, and can be supplied with hinged construction.

MATERIAL TRACKING SOFTWARE FOR MINING, MINERALS, METALS SUPPLY CHAINS
Honeywell has released Material Tracking R100 as part of its Business FLEXâ manufacturing execution system (MES) applications. Material Tracking is a configurable software framework that enables mining, mineral processing and metals production companies to synchronize supply chains with financial processes, resulting in improved productivity and reduced costs. Material Tracking can be used in several industries including mining, blending and shipping, iron and steel making, ore processing and concentration, metals refining and chemical batch operations. The program allows tracking, tracing, storage and analysis of all supply chain data, including material flow, quality, ore type and other information. It also provides site-specific, near-real time views of critical production information with intuitive displays that allow operators to execute and adjust production plans within the supply chain in order to ensure safety, efficiency and reliability. The system also can serve as a link between production and financial operations. For example, Material Tracking can receive and store production planning and scheduling data from enterprise resource planning (ERP) and scheduling systems. It also can transmit actual production totals and summary data to ERP systems. Additionally, the software receives laboratory data and automatically associates it with recorded inventories.

MULTI-BASKET SIMPLEX STRAINER REDUCES OPERATING COSTS
Designed for larger piping systems with flow rates up to 40,000 gpm, Model 510 Simplex Basket Strainers protect
expensive piping system components from damage caused by particulate matter in the system flow. Te use of four
strainer baskets, rather than one, helps keep operating costs low by making basket cleaning an easy, one person job.
Because four baskets are smaller and lighter than one large basket would be, one person can easily remove them
from the housing without help or the need to set up lifting equipment. Use of four strainer baskets per unit to strain
the fluid flow gives the Model 510 an extremely high dirt removal capability. Tis is important in larger size strainers
since they take longer for basket cleaning or change out than smaller ones due to their size and design. The longer the
strainer stays in service between cleaning the less expensive its operating costs will be. Four strainer basket design for
results in a strainer housing with a low profile design and shortened centerline to top/bottom dimensions – permitting
installation in cramped quarters. Strainer baskets feature a slanted top design for straight through flow that reduces
pressure drop across the strainer. Model 510 Simplex Basket Strainers are available with flanged connections for piping systems from 8" to 36" in size in a choice of iron or bronze construction.

PROTECTIVE CAPS ENSURE CONNECTORS STAY SEALED TO IP67
Binder-USA has announced the addition of protective caps to its  820/870 series 7/8 in. threaded connector system.  These caps are
designed to maintain an IP67 protection rating while connectors are in the unmated condition, protecting the connectors from the
ingress of dust, moisture and other debris. The protective caps are available for straight and right angle cable plugs as well as panel-mount
